“I have never missed the slightest Book Fair, apart from the one in 2023 for health reasons. I am a faithful among the faithful! I still remember, as a young author, the very first: it was in a shopping mall but there was already this warm atmosphere. You know, I have immense gratitude towards the Book Fairs and that of Montreuil in particular: we who work in solitude, it is our adventure club! We see our readers and authors with whom we sympathize. On this subject, I have an anecdote: one day, I gave a writing workshop in a school in Pierrefitte at the request of a young teacher. On the walls, I see a drawing and the teacher tells me that it was one of her friends who did it. I took her contact details, I showed the drawing to my editor and the illustrator in question, Christine Roussey, found herself doing the drawings for one of my Books, My Story Box.”
