Philippe Corria will be present this year again at the authors' salon near you on Sunday December 8, to mark the release of the sequel to his first work entitled “Two years after… rue du Cormier à Écommoy”.
Le Maine Libre: How did you get into writing?
Philippe Corrie : “At 66, retired, and after experiencing grief around me, I started writing. It was real therapy. I wrote a very personal book but which still remains within my family circle today. Encouraged by Nadine Enguehard, the manager of the Écommoy bookstore, I wrote a detective story published last year thanks to Laurence Auviu, an autobiographer from the region who did all the layout. This book “Drama with raised stones… in the commune of Écommoy” was well received by the public and readers asked me to write a sequel, this was not initially planned.”
Does this mean that this new book is inseparable from the first?
“Indeed, it is preferable to have read the first to enter the second. This time, it concerns a murder which takes place on the Place de la République in Écommoy, just in front of the church. We head towards rue du Cormier where we see a mysterious blonde woman accosting a character from the book. We are counting on the Écommoy gendarmerie to carry out the investigation.”
Do you think you will continue writing another detective novel?
“After these two Books, I’m really moving on. I have a new book project, completely different, that I have already started, it will be a surprise.”
The author will be present at the book and authors fair on Sunday December 8, Salle Richefeu in Écommoy, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free entry.
