Chemillé-en-Anjou. 450 visitors and 290 penholders at the 8th edition of the “Books in celebration” fair

Sunday November 17, at the Théâtre foirail, the Tourism and leisure association in Chemillois led by Philippe Gallotte organized its 8e day of “ in celebration”, with the presence of around sixty authors from Anjou or who have written about the region. 450 visitors came to discover the different works presented and were able to chat with the authors. Elected officials and organizers opened the demonstration by emphasizing the importance of writing in the cultural field today .

An Angevin guest of honor

The stand of the guest of honor Roxane Dambre, Angevine and author of several works of fantasy, feel-good and romantic comedies, was stormed. During a talk, she explained her world.

Among the stands, there was also that of the couple Michèle and Jean-Claude Garcia. Jean-Claude presented works for which he had redone the bindings. But what most interested the public was his collection of pen holders. I currently own 290 from many countries. Above all, I look for the originality of these objects. I have them in 28 different materials. Each one has an original functionality with particular materials such as goose feather, steel, copper, glass or even cork like the last one entered in my collection .

Throughout the day, more than 200 people, adults and children, were able to try writing with different models. Not always easy!
