Book: Béchir Salem Belkhiria (BSB), the permanent challenge

We only knew bits and pieces of it. However, Béchir Salem Belkhiria (1930-1985) was visionary, pioneer and innovative. Graduated from ESSEC in , and he never stopped promoting major projects.

Of his career, as of his avant-garde ideas, the restitution has been limited and scattered. A book, prepared in 2007 by the late Dr Hamda Belkhiria, was dedicated to him. It has just been expanded and reissued, recalling its immense memory. Under the title “Béchir Salem Belkhiria, the permanent challenge”, published by Editions Leaders, it offers an instructive read.

The Arabic language version includes, in the first part, a well-supplied biography of Béchir Salem Belkhiria, at the same time portrait, life story, testimonies, review of the professional, associative and personal career, as well as memories recorded by Dr Hamda Belkhiria. The second part includes a series of articles, notes and reflections written by the deceased. As for the French-language version, it includes a brief biography, as well as articles and analyses.

The set is decorated with a photo album. The first edition, published in 2007, was quickly sold out. Many people have wanted to acquire a copy, but have not been able to do so. Only a few years later, the author of the book, Dr Hamda Belkhiria, died on February 21, 2011. The chances of a reissue of the work have become very slim…
