The collection of unpublished short stories written by ten emblematic authors of children’s literature
Committed for ten years to strengthen the taste for reading among young people, Partir en Livre highlights the link between sport and literature and offers thousands of adolescents a collection of short stories on this theme. For its tenth anniversary, Partir en Livre has entrusted ten emblematic authors of children’s literature in France with the writing of ten texts brought together in this collection around the theme of sport, on the occasion of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
News written by Clémentine Beauvais, Kamel Benaouda, Claire Castillon, Christelle Dabos, Malika Ferdjoukh, Philippe Lechermeier, David Moitet, Susie Morgenstern, Cécile Roumiguière and Jean-Christophe Tixier embody all the creativity and diversity of this literature which is constantly renewed, to speak to young people. Sport is thus available in multiple genres and themes, from humorous stories to dystopia, and there is no doubt that everyone will find what they are looking for.
Thanks to the assistance of theParis Cultural Olympiad 2024, this collection will be distributed free of charge and widely in paper format throughout the festival, and online on the Partir en Livre website, so that the stories also come to life through readings aloud, competitions, podcast recordings… Because literature, like sport, is also a performance. Through this collection, the National Book Center wishes to introduce tomorrow’s readers to emblematic authors of children’s literature on themes that will speak to their sensibilities. Like sport, reading is an issue of citizenship, emancipation and pleasure.
