Books and waves

The idea of associating books and waves above all echoes the maritime city of La Rochelle. But the organizer continues her reflection. “There is the idea of books that make waves, books that make you think. There will be no children’s literature, romance or thrillers. It’s general literature. » Among the expected authors, Bruno Markov will be present for his novel “The Last Floor of the World”, a work which addresses ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence. He will share a round table with the philosopher Vivien Garcia to discuss this subject on Sunday.

It is of the quality of major festivals

Panel discussions, signings, music and sumptuous architecture will guarantee an immersive weekend. Over these two days, the festival will welcome local authors, other award-winners, such as Emmanuelle Bayamack-Tam awarded the Médicis Prize in 2022 for “La Treizième Heure “, illustrators and poets. “These authors are not used to meeting together in La Rochelle where there are few literature festivals. There is a hole in the map to meet authors.”

Recently, the festival received a partnership with Télérama. “The festival takes on another dimension. It is self-financed and there are few of us, but it is of the quality of major festivals,” rejoices Isabelle Harmonic-Muller.
