Be careful… Light!
This is Philippe Sohier’s favorite phrase. First the actors prepare, then they enter the stage and turn on their little inner light.
It is therefore not surprising that he made it the title of his latest work, which is neither a novel nor a play, and which is aimed at a very wide audience. I wrote it as a dialogue between an actor and a director, with the desire to transmit.
The book offers an introduction to the art of playing, which everyone can learn. It can be useful to accept silence before speaking, to give weight to words to have presence.
Presence, poise and silence: fundamentals also for students preparing for a competitive exam or for business executives.
Always on the lookout for a good word, Philippe Sohier sums up his remarks thus: It’s a way of gaining weight in front of others without gaining weight physically.
His initiation is followed by three plays for which he directs the actors, because theater can also be read!
