Released in 2020, “Thus was born the Vendée Globe” remains a reference for those who want to understand the Genesis of the famous sailing race.

Fabrice Hodecent brings his pen to put into words the memories and stories of Didier Planson, coordinator of the first editions and “traveling companion of Philippe Jeantot”, creator of the famous sailing race around the world.

The book allows you to discover how was the idea of ​​the race born? and how it came to fruition. This work tells, on the basis of facts, documents and 30 precious testimonies from pioneers, behind the scenes of the race.
