Dedications.- Local painter and author Marie-Claude Eguimendia will be at the Maison de presse tabac this Monday, November 4 to celebrate the release of her new book “The Lords of Cancor” narrating a part of our local history, composed of haikus and watercolor illustrations , this artist’s favorite pictorial technique. You will be able to obtain this work and request a dedication from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The best welcome will be given to each person!
Back to school. — It took place this morning at 9 a.m. After two weeks of vacation, toddlers from nursery and elementary schools and teachers have returned to classes in order to work until the next rest period which will take place around the end of year holidays.
Alsh and Teen Service. — Together, they organized activities and leisure programs for the children and teenagers of these structures. Everyone is happy to have been able to enjoy a great vacation.
Armistice of 1918.- It is tradition every November 11 to celebrate the Armistice signed in 1918 between our country France and Germany. The cantonal delegation of Veterans will undertake its tour of the villages in order to assist Veterans, elected officials and local populations at the War Memorial for the commemorative ceremony of this important event in our History; it will be in Saint-Maurice-de-Lestapel at 10:15 a.m., Monbahus-Lougratte-Castelnaud de Gratecambe 11 a.m., Beauregard 11:35 a.m., Cancon 12 p.m. and Pailloles 4 p.m. In Cancon, the Opex Combatant’s Cross will be awarded by President Jean-Pierre Viguier, as well as the Nation’s Recognition medal by the Mayor to Mr. Thierry Pouget Thierry residing in Cancon, for his commitment to the Central African Republic and Chad. in armed conflict in 1988 and 1989.
