“A million pounds”: Charles III finally wins a financial round against his brother Andrew, a disgraced prince

King Charles has finally decided! After a quarrel of several years concerning the Royal Lodge that Prince Andrew occupied (or rather squatted), the father of Harry and William decided to cut off his funds. Camilla’s husband officially ordered his assistants to stop money transfers to his younger brother’s account, according to royal author Robert Hardman in his book Charles III : New King. New Court : “The duke is no longer a financial burden to the king. (…) If he can find the money, it is up to him to do so, but if he cannot, he will find that the king does not have unlimited patience“. As a reminder, the king paid a large allowance (more thana million liyours sterling par an according to The Sun) since the sex scandal in which his brother Andrew was involved, stripped of his functions and his protections after the proceedings brought against him in the Epstein affair.

There was also pressure for Andrew to leave le Royal Lodge and moved into a smaller residence. The Sun also revealed that the king had fired the ten members of Andrew’s bodyguard. “Everyone thinks this means the Duke will have to leave the royal box” adds the author, “What other reason could there be to remove your security? They are all working the last weeks of their contracts until the end of October. We don’t think anyone is expected to replace them. It’s no secret the king wants him gone“.

Two solutions were proposed to Prince Andrew

Concerning this matter, a source previously told Times that King Charles had “lost patience“with his younger brother:”The king has reigned for two years now and he wants the matter to be settled“The king would have given Andrew”only two possible solutions” for the future.

The Duke will therefore have to find a way to pay for his security and household bills himself without receiving an allowance from Charles and will also have to move to a “more suitable accommodation“, like Frogmore Cottage, the former home of Harry and Meghan. However, Andrew does not seem at all in a hurry to leave the Royal Lodge, where he lives with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. With so much money less on his bank account, not sure that Prince Andrew will continue to stand up to his elder for much longer…
