“Bright“, “flamboyant”but also “heavy” et “sensible”this is how Florent Peyre describes the character of Commander Saint-Barththe new detective series from TF1, an investigator who has a phobia of corpses and goes to crime scenes “fingers”. “The detective genre has been available for decades in all possible versionsrecognizes actor Florent Peyre, and it’s true that we like police comedies at the moment”. In the same vein as HPI, Panda or Master Crime, this series is a mixture of investigation and humor, very popular on the channel for several years.
“There, in this case, I found something that I had not yet seen”says the actor about a potential “sexico-comic” of this character at the beach, bringing this role closer to that of Audrey Fleurot in HPI. “And at the same time, he’s a character that we can make fun of”he adds, citing the reference of Nicky Larsonthe compulsive flirtatious sniper from an 80s Japanese cartoon.
A comic role but which also allows us to work on a darker side
Even though the role was not specifically written for him, “there is a character and an actor” who are “met”he describes. The same “positive energy”the side “merry and winnowing” but also “the flaws that give more depth to the character”, all these elements caught the actor’s eye when reading the script, he says. However, he does not see this main role as a turning point in his career. “I’m working well at the moment, and more in fiction for some timehe rejoices, and these are just projects that I love.” But what characterizes his profession, he recalls, is that“We’ve never actually arrived, at any moment it could stop or go even higher. The main thing is to savor each moment, each project, each moment!”
He particularly relishes this second role as police commander since at the beginning, and even when he was a child, he said to himself: “Ah, I would love to be offered the role of a cop.” “Obviouslyhe specifies, I was thinking a lot about the roles of somewhat dark tortured cops, Olivier Marchal-style cops. So, that’s not exactly it!” However, the comedian emphasizes that his character also has anxious facets that he will need “to work” pour “progress in this register”. And that before going for more dramatic roles, he has already “very much want to do [son] profession and to be up to the projects that we [lui] offers today”. Without pretense, he assures, he does this job above all “to entertain people, amuse them, and move them if possible”.
