For its 3rd edition, the book fair which is being held at the Palais des Congrès on Saturday 19 and Sunday October 20organized in partnership with the Gibert bookstore, is enjoying growing success. Book signings, debates, exhibitions and concerts take place all weekend around the 22 authors present and the guest of honor, Gilles Kepel, specialist in the contemporary Arab world.

All types of literature are present: from a book adapted to a play The women who woke up from Jean-Louis Debré to the stories of spiritual experiences of Marek Halter or Didier van Cauwelaert through the books of Christophe Galfard who puts quantum physics “within reach“. The world of comics is not forgotten with those which revisit the works of Albert Camus and those which present mythologies to young audiences.

A rich program this Sunday

This diversity brings together a large audience, attracted not only by the desire to “see in real“celebrities but also and above all seduced by the creative abundance that emanates from this salon. According to a Grand-Motto resident who is used to the place, this salon functions like a “booster shot” by bringing books close to people.

After the success of this Saturday, October 19, which attracted nearly a thousand visitors, the rich program for this Sunday promises to be a great success. As soon as you enter the Palais des Congrès, an interactive exhibition will fascinate young and old, invited to solve a police riddle by finding clues using an audio headset and 3D glasses. At 10:30 a.m., in the small auditorium, a 45-minute “baby players” session will be offered to children aged 3 months to 3 years accompanied by their parents. At 11 a.m., the charismatic leader of the Gipsy Kings, Chico, will offer a guitar concert to present his latest book.

Prestigious authors

This will be followed by prestigious authors who will talk about their latest books from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. then from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. At the same time, a short film entirely shot in La Grande-Motte “C’est chelou comme tu danses” will be screened at 3 p.m. in the small auditorium. At 4 p.m., it will be the turn of a storyteller to seduce young and old with beautiful stories “Rendez-vous histoire!”, Petite Camargue room. And at 5 p.m., a concert of violins and cellos will close the event in the small auditorium.

As the mayor, Stéphan Rossignol, pointed out: “Literature multiplies existence by allowing us to travel in space and time “. Objective achieved for the 3rd edition of La Grande-Motte delivers!
