In this month of October 2024, an alley in Hassan II Park in Rabat is dressed in new attire: around twenty white tents under which couples of authors, created for the occasion, attempt to protect from the sun while smiling at the readers who came to meet them. They come from the four corners of the world, from Morocco and the Maghreb of course, but also from , sub-Saharan Africa, Quebec and Lebanon…

When we wander through this ephemeral literary camp that constitutes the 6th edition of the Littératures itinérantes festival, we are impressed by the quality of the authors selected, some of whom have recently won awards. Among the stars who made the trip, there are two Prix Goncourt: Gilles Leroy and Laurent Gaudé, who admits to always being fascinated that “ travel and meet their readers”. Sub-Saharan Africa is not left out, notably with the Chadian Nimrod Bena, the Congolese Dibakana Mankessi (winner of the African Book Prize 2024) and the Ivorian novelist, essayist and philosopher Tanella Boni.
