Since its creation in 2012, the book has held an essential place as a vector for disseminating jewelry culture for L’École des Arts Joailliers.
The School publishes numerous works each year, ranging from exhibition catalogs to academic studies, reflecting its commitment to sharing its knowledge with the widest audience.
Recently, she opened a library and bookstore dedicated to this goal in her new home, the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau.
A new work: Received ideas about jewelry
A polysemous object par excellence, jewelry crystallizes many preconceived ideas. Well beyond the artifices of appearance, jewelry is both universal and the incarnation of a culture and the stereotypes that accompany it. It is the roots of these prejudices that the authors analyze in this book, connecting all the facets of jewelry. Enriched with illustrations, it constitutes an original introduction to the jewelry world.
The work is the result of collective work carried out by several professors and experts from the École des Arts Joailliers, in line with its main mission: to discover jewelry in all its facets.
