Meeting • Mediterranean Book Fair “Fort Literary” • October 26, 2024

As part of the Mediterranean book fair “Fort littéraire” at Fort Saint-Nicolas, Saturday October 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Hosted by the Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment (CAUE 13), this conversation will focus on the Metropolitan Atlas: reasoned exploration of the Aix--Provence territory (published in 2023) followed by a signing of the book by Michel Lussault Let’s live together! For a new terrestrial urbanity (Threshold, 2024)

How is a geographical space defined as “metropolitan”before becoming “metropolis” ? Born from an educational experience started at the National School of Architecture (ensa•m) in Marseille in the first half of the 2010s, this work of cartographic and photographic production became a work published by the CAUE 13, the basis of knowledge for all those interested in the evolution of the Aix-Marseille-Provence territory. Alongside a physical presentation of the work (with large prints of maps), a conversation between one of the architects of the work, the architect-urban planner and researcher Laurent Hodebert and the geographer Michel Lussault, intends to raise awareness of the great public to the tool that constitutes cartography for a good understanding of our territories and their evolution.
