The 14th Book Day organized last Sunday by the Leisure and Culture association of Sarroux-Saint-Julien recorded a large turnout and the presence of 24 writers.

Last Sunday, there was a large crowd for the fourteenth volume of Book Day organized at the sports hall by the Leisure and Culture association (ALC) of Sarroux-Saint-Julien. “The book is the natural vector par excellence of knowledge, discovery and emotion. It is an irreplaceable space of freedom and a door open to the imagination. Moreover, small salons like ours reflect the desire to perpetuate this means of dissemination that modernism will ultimately not be able to replace,” underlined in particular the author Jean-Pierre Lacombe, at the origin of this event, launched in 2010 by Jean-Louis De Mijolla.

Twenty-four writers met numerous visitors, all lovers of beautiful pages, for signings and fruitful discussions around their works. Five publishing houses were also present: Friends of Autumn Reflections, Cratère, Carrefour Ventadour, Maïade and the Society of Friends of the Pays d’Ussel Museum.

In addition to those presented by the authors, Mélanie Pimont-Lebeaux, from the Prologue bookseller, in Bort-les-Orgues, offered a wide choice of new works from all horizons. For its part, the ALC unveiled its bookstore section with donations and duplicates from the municipal library. Finally, Clément and Julien Pappalardo, alias “The brothers of the woods”, as well as members of the ALC photo workshop, exhibited various photos.
