The third edition of the Books & more festival, organized by the Book association of Alençon (Orne) has been taking place since Monday October 7, 2024 in Alençon. After musical readings, a conference and the screening of the restored version of the film Regain by Marcel Pagnol, the bulk of the festivities take place on Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13.
Saturday October 12
On the Saturday program at the Halle aux Toiles, several meetings with “Sport in all its states”, in the presence of Georges Vigarello, specialist in the history of sensitivities and representations of the body at 11 a.m. It will be followed at 2:30 p.m. by “An intimate history of music”, a conversation between Alexandre Fillon, holder of the Hennessy prize for literary journalism, and Michka Assayas, accompanied by his children Eva and Antoine Assayas. At 4 p.m., Patrick Vannier, editor for the dictionary of the Académie Française, will host a meeting around the famous institution. Finally, a meeting with Belinda Canonne, author of the book The Vulnerablewill take place at 5:30 p.m.
The A-fictionnados prize will be awarded to Taï-Marc Le Thanh for his novel And the sky was veiled with fury. For children, the show Small fish by the Toutito Teatro company will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Sunday October 13
Three meeting platforms are on the program this Sunday: there will first be “In the footsteps of the great explorers”, in the presence of Stéphane Dugast at 11 a.m., followed by “How are political opinions formed? » with essayist Jérôme Fourquet at 2:30 p.m. and finally, at 4 p.m., an interview with Évelyne Bloch-Dano, author of the novel Violet and Stella.
A performance of the family show Game of this family will take place at 10:30 a.m. For apprentice writers, a minute writing workshop will be led by Sonia Brault from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the performance hall.
