On February 14, 2024, fans of the first Tomb Raider trilogy had the pleasure of (re)discovering Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, a remastered compilation of the first three adventures of Lara Croft. It seems that Crystal Dynamics is happy with the game’s sales and reviews, as the company has handed the license over to Aspyr again, this time to work on Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered.
Lara Croft is back with the remastering of the second trilogy
The Darkness Trilogy of Tomb Raider returns in a remastered collection with reworked graphics while allowing nostalgic fans to switch between classic and remastered visuals at any time. Fans will be able to delve back into Lara’s thrilling journeys across iconic locations around the globe, while discovering some of the most enigmatic chapters of her story.
The games included in this Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
- Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation — Lara Croft discovers the lost tomb of the Egyptian god Seth and unwittingly frees him, fulfilling an ancient prophecy that plunges humanity into darkness.
- Tomb Raider: Chronicles — Following the events of The Last Revelation, Lara Croft is buried in an Egyptian tomb and presumed dead. At his funeral, his loved ones remember the secrets of his past.
- Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness — Framed for murder, Lara becomes a fugitive on the run and uncovers a sinister plot involving alchemical experiments and the search for ancient artifacts.
In addition to offering the first gameplay images, Aspyr also specified the release date. You will therefore have to wait until February 14, 2025 before you can enjoy Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Crystal Dynamics also took advantage of this announcement to specify that the Tomb Raider franchise has exceeded 100 million sales worldwide. Let’s hope that, to celebrate, the studio will soon lift the veil on the next opus!
