Cessy: Festy Livres fair, to the happiness of pages and authors

Lhe Cessy Book Fair was invented five years ago by the culture assistant, Mélanie de Chaignon, supported by the communications assistant Evelyne Texier. “ I love reading, confides Mélanie de Chaignon. So, I said to myself: why not a book event in Cessy? Here, we have a lot of associations, mainly sports, a little cultural touch would be welcome. This is how we got started… »

Everything for everyone

Completely free, the Cessy show does not particularly have a theme: “ The goal is that there is something for all tastes and for all ages. » When recruiting authors, Mélanie bases herself on what she likes, but also on the advice of library staff. Little by little, between personal efforts and attendance at other salons, Cessy’s “authors’ catalog” is enriched. “ We solicit some that we know, others that we approach… Some authors are from Pays de Gex, from Switzerland, from the region, others come from further afield… The idea is to offer a family scale, on a human scale, a lounge in which visitors have the opportunity to chat with the authors… »

Maryssa Rachel and writing workshops

Among the latter, we will notably find Maryssa Rachel. Already present last year, the Péronnaise returns with another face, that of the daughter of Octopus, of which she has just published the first opus in the famous collection of Jean-Bernard Pouy (We must not take street children for wild assholesat Moby Dick). The author will come to autograph, talk about the new thriller experience for her, but also lead two writing workshops for teenagers and adults: “ The goal, she explains, it will boost creativity, let the pen run wild… A form of literary warm-up, without taking the hassle! » The workshops of 30 minutes each will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (registration with Cessy town hall).

Entertainment and activities

The Festy Livres doesn’t stop there. It will offer storytelling yoga, creative and reading workshops, Japanese image theater, pop-ups, a badge bar, a cultural pixel exhibition, caricature with Sophie Barbier, book sales with the Vents bookstore de Terre and activities for children, reading corner, coloring, manual activities… You will find snacks and a refreshment bar run by the Cessy Staff Association on site.
