Why this book?

  • Because after An autumn to forgive you And A winter to resist you, Morgane Moncomble returns with the spring season. Third novel in a series around the seasons, it features Magnolia known as Nolia, friend of the two previous heroines, Camelia and Lily.
  • Because of course it is a romance but a romance that highlights themes like arranged marriage, a single mother and even forced proximity. Indeed, Nolia must marry Camille, a young business manager with a sulphurous public image, to offer a happy future to her daughter Nazeena and escape the family pressure who wants to marry her with a man she does not love. more. She will therefore live with him and together, they will get to know each other and build bonds.
  • Because this novel offers us themes topics such as self-confidence or the limits of social networks and their consequences while adding a fair dose of feminism, allowing women and men to find themselves in certain historical situations. Nolia and Camille must face all of this and each will be the other’s anchor, helping them overcome pain and trauma. Once again, the pen of Morgane Moncomble immerses us in a strong story anchored in reality.
  • Because the novel is full of references to spring – as with the previous volumes on their respective seasons – but also features another country: the Netherlands and the city of Amsterdam, offering another journey to readers. In addition, Nolia comes from an Indian family and Morgane Moncomble invites us to discover this world and its traditions with great respect.

The essentials in 2 minutes

The plot. Nolia needs money for her flower shop and to raise her daughter, Nazeena. Camille needs to improve her public image. A marriage between them can solve everything provided they don’t fall in love. But fate could play tricks on them.

Characters. Nolia and her daughter Nazeena but also Camille. Then Enzo, Nolia’s ex and Camille’s friends. Around them, we can see Camelia and Lou again as well as Lily and Orion.

Places. If we have flashbacks in France, the novel takes place in the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

The time. The story takes place in our time.

The author. After several hundred thousand copies of her novels sold, in France and abroad, Morgane Moncomble has established herself today as one of the leading authors of her generation. It gives shape to deeply endearing heroes, grappling with social issues.

This book was read with butterflies in my stomach. Morgane Moncomble revisits arranged marriage in modern times with two touching heroes and well-balanced feminist themes. A story of destiny brilliantly combining the vision of women in all its forms. Looking forward to the next season!
