Descriptive text here

Organized by the Unissons association, programmed by Floryse Grimaud and supported by the town of Gémenos, this year again the Gémenos Book Fair was a great success.

Florian Allain, president of the Unissons association, managed this show masterfully, with his team, made up of Dominique Guenin, Alice Masson and Christelle Avon, not to mention the many volunteers. Real solidarity was undertaken to welcome the authors, and sometimes even offer them room and board.

Local cultural support

The recipe of the Unissons association is to treat each author in the same way, regardless of the number of books sold. “What matters to us is the well-being of the authors,” recalls Florian Allain.

A lover of literature, the latter converted to the animation and organization of literary and artistic events to keep his passion alive.

“Unisons aims to support artistic creation in all its forms by developing partnerships with different actors in cultural life. We are not an association that is content to create exhibitions. Above all, we are mediators with the mission of establishing bridges between authors and readers through partner bookstores, trade fairs and conferences followed by a meal.”

It is in this sense that Florian Allain has set up partnerships with several bookstores and cultural spaces in the department to promote culture. Thus, literary events are scheduled throughout the year to continue the cultural adventure for all. Like the conferences orchestrated at the Madeleine de Marcel literary café in Gémenos every first Saturday of the month.

Other meetings approaching

Unisons also continues its local missions by supporting, for example, publishing houses like Red’Activ, led by Mailis Paire who has a nose for finding promising new authors, like Alexis Bringuier who was particularly appreciated by Gémenosiens.

But also Melmac, the publishing house of Patrick Coulomb, of which Florian Allain thanks one of their authors, Bruno Carpentier, for his invitation to the Book Fair, making him the Ringmaster of the fair.

If this year, the Géménos Book Fair was a real success, Florian Allain also reminds us that other events are being prepared and which we will be pleased to partner with, such as the Saint-Chamas Book Festival, organized by the Feuille & Thés bookstore under the aegis of the association. See you on Saturday July 6, under the presidency of Daniel Picouly at Atelier 480.
