On Sunday April 21 at the Varennes library, the second detective novel by Varennes author Marie-Michelle Gagné was released.

“When my publisher asked me if I wanted to organize a launch, I questioned myself. I feared it would be a waste of time, admitted Ms. Gagné. I decided to go ahead, but I told myself that I would be very happy if I could meet around fifteen people. I didn’t count, but at one point I found myself whirling around answering several questions and signing my novels. It was a nice surprise to see all these people interested in my writing. A magnificent experience to repeat. »

“I worked as a primary school secretary for several years. I found that the setting lent itself well to tackling different subjects: narcissism, homophobia, racism, sexism, jealousy, revenge, etc., within the framework of a police investigation,” she explained.

“In the novel Suspicious Death at School, the vice-principal of a primary school is found lifeless in his office,” explained the author. The circumstances of his death are suspicious. The characters of Emmy Langlois, a curious journalist, and René Soucy, an investigator at the SQ, met in my first novel Fatal Falls. They get involved in the investigation and the magic still happens between them. »
