Right away he was hit by the smell, a mixture of bleach and medicine and something else, like dirt or dust. » »

Why this book?

  • Because it’s a novel that holds you in suspense until the end! His writing is fluid and the small chapters move us from plot to plot, very pleasantly.
  • Because everyone knows each other over three generations and the resentments and jealousies are of course blatant. The climate of suspicion also penetrates the hearts of families. All this makes the atmosphere very dark, everyone having something to hide.
  • Because at the same time, the two gendarmes investigate a banal case of garbage burned on the national highway completely illegally, which brings back the memory of a young girl who disappeared twenty years ago and whose simple name seems to bother a lot of people…
  • Because it’s not one but several intrigues, endearing characters but who have their dark side… crossed destinies from generations before? The world is not that big…
