Barbara Pravi unveils “La Pieva”, a tribute album to her roots and her career: “Without the public, I do nothing”

-

Barbara Pravi is back with a new album “La Pieva” in which she pays tribute to her roots. Three years after moving the Eurovision audience with “Voilà”, the singer looks back on this experience and shares her sincere and authentic approach to music.

In 2021, Barbara Pravi became known to the general public thanks to the song “Voilà” which earned her a remarkable second place at Eurovision. But for the artist, this success is far from being a coincidence. “It’s not a big deal. It’s a lot of work over time.”she explains. After Eurovision, Barbara went on to perform more than 120 concert dates around the world.

For her, luck played only a minor role. “The real luck is to have written a song that exceeded my expectations. But the rest is work.”she insists.

A sincere connection with his audience

Barbara Pravi places great importance on authenticity, both in her music and in her relationship with her audience. “I think I’m very honest, very sincere in the way I make music.”she confides. She cultivates this sincerity in the lyrics of her songs, but also in the way she maintains a strong bond with her fans: “Without the public, I do nothing”she admits.

Her goal is to maintain this sincere connection through her concerts, where she says she is “very present” for her audience. For her, each concert must be an emotional experience.

A tribute to his roots

Her new album “La Pieva” is imbued with this sincerity that characterizes her. The very title of the album is a tribute to a gypsy ancestor of Barbara, nicknamed “La Pieva”, the singer, in Serbian. Through this work, she explores universal themes such as self-esteem and the acceptance of one’s differences.

In her song “Maman”, she addresses her fears of not being “like the others”. “We all think we are different, but in reality we are very similar and that is what makes us human.”she explains.

In a world where perfection is often put forward, Barbara Pravi claims the importance of self-esteem. “You have to agree to say bravo to yourself. That doesn’t mean taking yourself for granted, it means being aware of your qualities, your faults and agreeing to look at yourself and say, In fact, I’m proud of myself.”she explains. For the artist, being proud of oneself allows one to be better, not only for oneself, but also in one’s relationships with others.
