Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N) won Rally Greece on Sunday, the 10th of 13 rounds of the WRC, at the end of Sunday’s rally. He thus strengthened his position as leader in the overall championship standings.

This is Neuville’s second win of the season, after his triumph in the opening race in Monte Carlo, and the 21st victory of his career. With Martijn Wydaeghe, Neuville repeats his 2022 feat in Greece.

In the world championship standings, Neuville now has 192 points compared to 158 for his Estonian teammate Ott Tänak. Frenchman Sébastien Ogier (Toyota), who rolled his car in the last special on Sunday, moves back to 3rd place with 154 points.

Neuville, 36, started the final day in the lead. After the 13th stage of this Rally Greece, he was 1:15.6 ahead of Ogier, who took the victory at the end of this first stage of the day with a 5.3 second advantage over the Belgian driver.

The Frenchman repeated the feat during the second special of the day to reduce his deficit in the general classification to 1:02.4 from Neuville who could do no better than 6th place (+13.2). Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux (Ford) took the victory at the end of the power stage, in which Neuville finished 4th.

With an all-Hyundai podium, Neuville ultimately finished 1:36.8 ahead of Spaniard Daniel Sordo and 2:57.3 ahead of Tänak.

The world championship will continue in three weeks with the Rally Chile, the eleventh of thirteen rounds.
