A refusal to comply that ended badly. Four young people were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Beure, in Doubs. One of the two cars was fleeing police officers from the anti-crime squad, we learned this Sunday from a police source and the Besançon prosecutor.
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, around 1:30 a.m., a BAC crew had first chased a vehicle with two people on board, after a refusal to comply. It had chosen to cease all pursuit, the driver of the car taking “far too many risks”, a police source told AFP.
“No police involvement in the accident”
The car, a Clio, matched that of a person suspected of shooting at a home earlier in the evening, a source close to the investigation said. The Clio, in which two 23-year-old men were travelling, collided head-on with another car, in which a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were travelling.
According to the Doubs prefecture, “there was no police involvement in the accident” and the BAC had “lost track of the vehicle” when the accident occurred.
