2000: The title escapes
After having won the first title of champion of France in the history of the club the previous season, the Poitevin stadium retains its frames with the Brousseau, Chambertin, Daquin, Sammelvuo and Soïca. And still Eric NgaPeth at the head of the team. But, following tensions with Jean-Michel Roche, the manager, the first is dismissed during the season and the second takes his place. Despite these internal upheavals, Poitiers ranked third in the championship (18 victories, 8 defeats) and, after eliminating Asnières and Tourcoing in the play-offs, finds Paris in the final for a remake from last year. But, this time, Paris has the last word in two rounds.
Poitiers – Paris: 1-3 (25-20, 24-26, 15-25, 15-25).
Paris – Poitiers: 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-18).
2007: first with Olivier Lecat
Former SPVB passer (from 1990 to 1996), Olivier Lecat launched his coach career in Poitiers in 2006. And this first season is almost a master stroke. With boys like Pierre Pujol, Oliver Kieffer, Florian Kilama, Guillaume Samica, or Anderson Menezes or Kamil Baranek, the Poitevin stadium finished third in the regular phase (18 victories, 8 losses) and then spread Cannes in the semi-finals to find Paris, again and again, in the final. Parisians won in Poitiers in Tie-Break before confirming at home a few days later (3-1) to win the national crown.
Poitiers – Paris: 2-3 (20-25, 25-20, 18-25, 27-25, 10-15).
Paris – Poitiers: 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-23).
2008: we take the same
Fourth in the regular season (17 victories, 9 defeats), Poitiers once again eliminates Cannes in the semi-finals in two games to find Paris in the final. For a new title of Paris Volley in two meetings but, each time, in Tie-Break.
Poitiers – Paris: 2-3 (22-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 16-18).
Paris – Poitiers: 3-2 (16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 15-11).
2012: The swan song
Reigning French champion, the Poitevin Volley-Ball stadium has experienced a major financial deficit for several months. Juggling with these extra-sports concerns, the training, still trained by Olivier Lecat, finished second in the championship behind Tours (20 victories, 6 defeats). After having lost in Tie-Break in Tourcoing in the first match of the quarter-final, the Poitevins reversed the trend during the two games following Lawson-Body room (3-0, 3-0) before sweeping Sète in the semi-finals (3-0, 3-0). For the fourth final of the Lecat era, the title is competed in a match in Paris. Match dominated in three sets by the Tourangeaux on April 21, 2012. We do not yet know, but it is the last under the name Stade Poitevin Volley-Ball. The club will indeed be placed in compulsory liquidation a few weeks later before filed for bankruptcy.
Tours – Poitiers : 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-22).
