Near Dieppe, the chimney fire spreads to the roof: a destroyed cottage

This Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 12:27 p.m. Thursday, the firefighters intervened on rue de Maltot, in Saint-Ouen-du-Breuilnear Dieppe (Seine-Maritime).

And chimney fire spread to the roof of a thatched cottage. Large means have been deployed to try to control the disaster with ten devices and 35 firefighters sent on the spot.

“Upon arrival of help, the roof was on fire,” said the departmental fire and rescue service.

Three activated fire spears

Despite these deployed means and the action of three fire spears, the cottage was entirely ravaged by the flames.

However, the firefighters are still on site to ensure clearing operations.

Four people transported to hospital

Two adults and two not injured children were transported to the University Hospital Center in Rouen.
