The PS Lausannois launches Julien Eggenberger for the election to the municipality next March. Preferred to Sarah Neumann on Wednesday evening during the party assembly, the deputy for the Grand Council completes a socialist ticket where the Emilie Moeschler and Grégoire Junod are also located.
These last two were appointed Wednesday evening by acclamation to the Maison du Peuple, while Julien Eggenberger has ahead of Sarah Neuman by 75 votes at 39. With this trio, the PS Lausannois hopes to keep its three places at the executive after the announcement of the departure of its third current representative, Florence Germond.
Trois race with the PLR too
Aged 44, Julien Eggenberger is a teacher at the Primary and Secondary Establishment Isabelle-de-Montolieu. Also a trade unionist, he heads the Lausanne worker circle, after having long presided over the SSP-VAUD. On the political level, he was briefly municipal councilor in Lausanne. He especially made himself known as a deputy for the Grand Council, where he has been sitting for almost 10 years. He won Wednesday evening against the president of the PS Lausannois and longtime municipal councilor.
Like the PS, the PLR will start three for the Lausanne municipality: the outgoing Pierre-Antoine Hildbrand will be accompanied by Marlène Bérard and Mathilde Maillard, designated at the end of February by their party. The Green will unveil their strategy on May 5, but the two outgoing Natacha Litzistorf and Xavier Company have already said it wanted to stack up. This is not the case with Popist David Payot, who does not stand for.
The other parties have not yet revealed their intentions for the Vaudoise capital. For several years, the Lausanne executive has been largely dominated by the left (3 PS, 2 green, 1 pop and 1 PLR).
