From this Wednesday, Switzerland lives “on credit” on future generations, the #MoVetHedate Switzerland movement said in a press release. If the whole world lived like Switzerland, humanity would need 2.9 planets.

Individual commitment remains important, but it can only reduce the maximum of 20% of the climate and resources impact, we read further. On the occasion of the Swiss Overshoot Day, Greenpeace activists and the design students of the Haute École d’Art de Zurich (ZHDK) deployed in the old town of Zurich a giant 7 -meter -long receipt containing critical questions on environmental protection and economic growth. The receipt contains 127 questions for the 127 days it took Switzerland to exhaust its natural resources.
