The NBA Draft 2025 will be held on June 26. Among the many talents announced, two Senegalese players are on the official list of registrants published by the NBA Communications: Ousmane Ndiaye and Mouhamed Faye, both from the U18 generation and Today well installed in European championships.
Ousmane Ndiaye, 21, 2m11, trained in Senegal, proved to be during the Afrobasket U18 2022, of which he had finished best 3 -point shooter. Mouhamed Faye, 2m07, former player of the Jeanne d’Arc, is also a pure product of Senegalese basketball. Captain of the Lionceaux during the Afrobasket U18, he had distinguished himself as the best rebounder of the tournament. Today, he plays in Italian Serie A with Reggiana. His progression earned him an appointment to the LBA Awards in the category of the best young player last season. He signed up for the Draft for the second time, with more experience and maturity.
With a strong African presence among the registrants, the Draft 2025 could mark a new turning point for basketball on the continent. Ndiaye and Faye are, to date, the only two Senegalese appearing on the official list.
