Ecobank , a subsidiary of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, announces today the launch of a considerably enriched version of its solution “Elver by Ecobank. »Initially designed to accelerate access to the financing of small and medium -sized enterprises belonging to , led by women or focused on women within the commercial bank, Ellever is enriched today to become more ambitious, more complete and more inclusive

The now offers an extended offer of financial and non -financial solutions, covering all of Ecobank activity segments: individual banking, commercial banking and banking of large companies and investment.

The “Elping by Ecobank” program was launched in Senegal in September 2021, with the aim of supporting companies led by women or oriented towards women. It offers financial and non -financial services, such as loans at reduced interest rates, training, coaching, and facility access to markets via digital tools. In April 2022, a partnership with WIC Capital made it possible to mobilize funding of 1 billion FCFA to support entrepreneurship in Senegal.

Elvation: a real and growing impact

This impact is the of quantifiable achievements. Thus the number of Ilver clients increased from 529 in 2021 to 2,037 in 2024 with the key 26 billion FCFA of funding granted.

The number of women actually financed is 879 customers, or 43 % of the portfolio. And 522 customers benefited from training and skills strengthening programs, representing 26 %.

At the continent, thanks to the ELLOVER program, Ecobank granted more than $ 200 million in loans, benefiting thousands of women entrepreneurs.

In March 2025, the program was enriched to offer an even more inclusive offer, now covering all customer segments, with in particular the possibility of obtaining unleashed loans up to $ 50,000 and personalized services (insurance, wealth management, loyalty). The enlargement of ELLOIR reflects Ecobank Senegal’s desire to act concretely to reduce gender inequalities and accelerate inclusive growth.

30% of companies created in Senegal belong to women

In Senegal, women represent about half of the population and play a central role in the economic and social dynamics of the country. They are at the origin of more than 30 % of the creations of individual companies, however, their access to financing remains limited. In addition, filling gender inequalities in Africa could add nearly $ 2,500 billion to GDP of the continent by 2025, the World Bank estimates.
