Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko took part this Daaka 2025 official ceremony this Sunday, an important annual religious rally in Médina Gounass. Representing the President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Faye, he was accompanied by several members of the government.
Warmly welcomed by the religious community, the Head of Government transmitted the greetings and satisfaction of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for the smooth running of the event. He also praised the successful organization of Daaka, the fruit of effective coordination between the State and religious leaders.
“The president has instructed me to the Council of Ministers to personally ensure that all the necessary means are mobilized for the success of the Daaka,” said Ousmane Sonko.
The Prime Minister recalled the importance of this spiritual pilgrimage in the religious and cultural life of Senegal. He also underlined the government’s constant commitment to support the major religious events of the country.
The caliph of Medina Gounass, Thierno Amadou Tidiane Ba, by the voice of his spokesperson Thierno Ibnou Oumar Ba, praised this presence and the support of the State. He formulated prayers for the stability of the country, national cohesion and the success of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye in his mission.
