For Karolina Antonets, who is a bit of the team’s regular representative during this trip because of the quality of her English, there is no question of making a bad look at the classic Junior Rouge et Or volleyball.
“We want to have fun, but we also want to win and demonstrate what we can do on a field. We find that the gymnasium is perfect and it is a great opportunity for us to continue to improve. ”
For the instigator of the project, Émile Lapierrre, there is no doubt that the training will be monitored.
“They are large and they are powerful. It is a civil team that trains six times a week in addition to bodybuilding. We understand by speaking with them that volleyball serves as an outlet for everything that is happening in their country. ”
They also played an off-competition match on Tuesday against Limoilou that they won quite easily.
“It’s true, but I already remember the whole human aspect that emerges from their presence here. After the match, the girls stretched with that of the Titans and it was beautiful to see them exchange their information on social networks. ”
Already a poutine!
The Ukrainians were going to discover more in depth in the afternoon, but they already had a taste of Quebec gastronomy on Tuesday when they tasted a Putin.
“It’s very tasty and the girls liked. People have been very welcoming since our arrival and we love our trip so far. We thought it was a joke when we learned that we were going to come to Canada, but it is obvious that we are going to remember this trip all our life. ”

Ukraine never far away
Despite all this good time spent in Quebec for a few days, the players still have time to get news of what’s going on in their country.
“You see at times that some are thinking and you have to understand them. We try to respect them in there and we continue to try to give them the best possible moments, ”explains Lapierre who is very happy with the course of the trip so far.
However, he finished with an anecdote which demonstrates how these young Ukrainian women experienced a very different reality from what teenage girls are going through.
“We were walking around town yesterday and the girls saw a drone. You saw that they were surprised to see this type of machine walking in the air without problem here. They feared it and did not like it, ”finishes the organizer, stating that these flying objects are commonly used to wage war.
