If Germany was to refuse entry to people who have already crossed the border, at least three principles relating to human rights, Schengen and the Dublin Agreement would be raped, the State Secretariat (SEM) said on Thursday. Quick hardening of migration policy
The two countries will meet at the ministerial level to discuss the continuation of the events, indicates the Federal Department of Justice and Police (DFJP). The Austrian Minister of the Interior Gerhard Karner and his German counterpart Alexandre Dobrindt have already maintained each other.
The latter announced hardening of German migration policy just hours after taking office on Wednesday. The DFJP said on X to regret that Dobrindt made this decision without consultation. “The citizens of the two countries must be able to continue to freely cross the border to go to work,” we could read.
