(Stéphane Martin, May 05, 2025)-A fire start was quickly mastered on Monday morning in a housing building on rue Saint-Vincent in Sorel-Tracy.
A call was housed around noon for a fire that was running inside a partition. “It is a pure and stupid accident that was generated by welding work. The pipe on which a plumber worked was hot and it sparked a fire in the wall. Thanks to the rapid intervention of our firefighters, the fire did not spread to the Entre-Toit. As a preventive measure and to have enough staff on site, we have triggered a second alarm ”explains the director of the emergency protection and intervention service, Roger Lamanca.
The work of the firefighters ended at 12:45 pm. No one was injured during events.
Sorel-Tracy firefighters are currently under pressure. The collective agreement has been expired since December 31. As part of this approach, a firefighter brought, under his combat uniform, a clown disguise during this intervention.
