18 years ago, Grégory Lemarchal died at 23, swept away by cystic fibrosis. On this sad anniversary, his mother Laurence Lemarchal spoke through the association bearing the name of her son, in order to rekindle his memory and encourage the fight against this disease which stole his life.
On the social networks of the association, a video made up of photos retracing the singer’s life – from his childhood to his triumph to “Star Academy” – accompanies a poignant message addressed to his “titi”.
“My titi … my son. What man would you be today? A tender dad, a loving husband, a teasing uncle, a benevolent friend … “, she writes, the heavy soul of a grip that is still as lively.
And to continue, with a tight heart: “Your absence, you know, it is still as painful. But your music, your voice, your smile, continue to inspire. ”
-Laurence Lemarchal also recalls that this year marks the twenty years of “Je Deviens Moi”, Grégory’s first album. “This so -called album name told your story. That of a young man who, despite the disease, has become the artist he had always wanted to be. ”
And if the young singer is no longer there to make the scenes vibrate, his voice continues to carry hope and the fight against cystic fibrosis. “You sang, vibrated,” said even a moment the cystic fibrosis that stole your breath. ” But this damn illness was stronger. ”
A heartbreaking tribute, but also an invitation not to give up. As Grégory said, with the strength of the heart: “To each his Everest.”
