LORS of this meeting, Driouich highlighted the excellence of fishery cooperation between and Japan, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, and welcomed the historic support of Japan as a funder of the sea fisheries sector, and a reference partner for more than 40 years, said a state secretariat.

Thus, the two parties welcomed the quality of bilateral relations, which resulted in many major projects, especially the most recent, the construction of the Al Hassan Al Hassan Al Marrakchi Oceanographic Research Ship (funded by a Japanese loan in 2018), the realization of the development project of the Generation Fisherman Village of Souiria K’dima (2024-2027) and the development project for aquaculture for blue growth ( implementation lessons).

The discussions also focused on the revival of the tripartite cooperation for training between Morocco, Japan and other countries (PRECAF II project), which aims to strengthen the capacities of African nationals in the fishery sector.

In addition, Driouich and Masahiro stressed the importance of continuing to promote multilateral coordination within the regional and international organizations concerned by fishing, fishery resources and ocean issues.
