Mostafa El Ibrahimi, MP for the Justice and Development Party (PJD), sent a written question to the Secretary of State, of which here is the content:
“On the occasion of the meeting of your party in the city of Dakhla at the beginning of May 2025, under the slogan” The debate of the Liberals, the way of achievements “, and also before the members of the Chamber of Maritime Fisheries, you declared, during the presentation that you made to the participants, that you had given support to one of the members of your party in the amount of 1.1 billion Molluscs. »»
The deputy added that this declaration surprised many operators in the fishing sector and “question the criteria and the methods of obtaining this support”.
The deputy urged the Secretary of State to explain the reason for his declaration concerning this support at a party meeting, and if this was a program for the maritime fishing sector or if it was an “call to recruitment” of actors in the sector within the framework of a direct electoral campaign “.
Furthermore, the deputy asked: “What is the legal or regulatory framework for this support?” What is the total amount of this support and how many people or entities have benefited in recent years? What are the procedures, criteria and methods of obtaining this support in a framework of transparency and equal opportunities? »»
Ms. Driouch says that “these are support programs for aquaculture projects, funded by the Islamic Development Bank, the World Bank and the European Union, aimed at supporting projects, not individuals.”
She added that to benefit from this support, “it is necessary to respond to a strict and clear specifications, in particular having a land base and a financial capacity ensuring the sustainability of the project, taking into account the importance of the financial partners involved.”
And to add: “Aid does not take the form of direct financial support, but mainly consist of the supply of appropriate equipment and tools to launch projects. More than 592 beneficiaries took advantage of these programs, including more than 12 cooperatives and 570 young people.”
