Three questions to …
Élise Langlois, tennis teacher.
What is a junior coach?
The junior coach is a tennis player who already has a few years of practice and who helps the professional teacher to animate workshops, rather in the form of specific games and permanent challenges, intended for younger children, whether beginners or with a small practice. He is trained in this sense in order to acquire the skills necessary for this exercise.
How is it going on the field?
-We have several shorts that we divide according to the number of children. Each coach supports a few children divided into small groups corresponding to their level of maturity and know-how. Children circulate from one workshop to another to practice different activities (dexterity, displacement, commitment). This allows them to increase the number of bullets they hit during an hour of lessons and they also participate in small matches.
Is being a junior coach a walk towards teaching?
Why not. If this experience pleases them, the role of coach can lead to professional training such as volunteer federal initiator or allow the CQP (Professional Qualification Certificate) Tennis educator or initial training in the state diploma of tennis educator.
For the moment, the five young junior coaches are the same language: they like to work with children, train them to allow them to evolve and acquire management experience.
