Morocco will produce combat planes F-16

has announced the creation of a factory for the manufacture and assembly of parts of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, one of the most important combat aircraft in its fleet. The project is part of military cooperation between Rabat and Washington.

Parts of the F-16 fighter plane will be manufactured and assembled in a latest generation factory which will be installed in the industrial area Midparc in Nouaceur, near Casablanca, reports the press.

This project represents “a significant transformation in the field of military technology, because it will provide the kingdom with modern technologies, thus contributing to the development of the local aeronautical industry”, it is said.

The implementation of this factory will also create job opportunities “in the fields of engineering and aeronautical maintenance, and stimulate the local economy by strengthening the defense industries sector”.

The F-16 hunter is one of the most used combat aircraft in the , including the modern F-16V Viper version, which has advanced arms systems and high resolution radar.
