“I want to come back to an event that has disrupted the life of this station, the life of this team for a week. I want to come back to the resignation of our friend Yanick Bouchard, “said Patrick Lagacé at the start of the game Thursday morning.

The host explained that Yanick Bouchard had been part of their team until last Thursday, a week ago today.
“Last Thursday, Yanick made an error of judgment which involved his Instagram account and a message mistakenly sent to a Minister of the Government of François Legault, Caroline Proulx,” he explained.
Minister Caroline Proulx, who attended her mother’s funeral that day, turned to the X platform to denounce the insidious messages sent by the sports columnist.
Patrick Lagacé reminded the listeners that Yanick Bouchard had been withdrawn from the waves “while the dust falls back” and that he had apologized last week.
“Yesterday (Wednesday), Yanick announced to the management and the 98.5 team that he resigned from his functions in our program and once again apologized,” continued Patrick Lagacé.
The host explained that this incident was a saga that had turned the whole team upside down.
“We arrive here in the studio at 4, 5 am, we work together and we do this at the shoulder to shoulder. People in this team appreciate. Yanick was a appreciated teammate. No one found funny Yanick’s comment which was made public by Mrs. Proulx. No one agrees either, ”he said.
“But when Yanick says that this error does not represent the person he is, I think I speak for the whole team by saying that it is true. Because everyone enjoyed working with Yanick Bouchard, everyone in this team finds that Yanick Bouchard is a good person, “he said.

A big mistake
“It is a good person who made a big mistake and who faces consequences which are all as big,” continued Patrick Lagacé, explaining that she wanted to take this moment in order to talk about this departure to the listeners.
“There are stations where when people resign or are fired, we pretend that nothing has happened. We talk to you every morning, we enter your daily life. Our voices, you know them, our personalities you know them, and I wanted to tell you what happened with Yanick. He chose to resign and this saga upset him, upset us and upset Minister Caroline Proulx. We understand everyone in there, “he added.
He concluded saying: “I say it, I don’t hide it, I enjoyed working with Yanick Bouchard. I wish him the best for the future. »»
Recall that this is not the first time that a co -manager animator or collaborator has been in poor position for having made improper remarks.
In February, the journalist of the 98.5 FM radio Louis Lacroix was withdrawn from the waves after writing words deemed racist in a Facebook publication, following the half-time show by Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl.
In October, animator Jeremy Filosa also lost his microphone and was relegated to the functions of echoist after having said in the air that he no longer believed that the Americans had walked on the Moon.
Both have since found their microphone.
