Monday, in Minnesota, Fleury said that he agreed to join team Canada for the world hockey championship this month.
Canada will start the tournament on Saturday against the Slovia, in Stockholm.
The competition will be held from May 9 to 25, in Stockholm and Denmark (Herning).
The Wild was eliminated from the series four days ago, beaten in six games by the Golden Knights of Vegas.
A 40 -year -old Fleury said he was looking forward to finding Sidney Crosby, his former teammate with Pittsburgh.
“I think it’s going to be pleasant to spend time with him and screaming after training,” said Fleury.
-During the series in progress, Fleury only played in third period and in overtime of the fifth match against Vegas, after Filip Gustavsson became inconvenienced.
Hockey Canada announced on Sunday that Crosby joined the training. The head coach is Dean Evason, a former Fleury pilot with the Wild, who now directs the Blue Jackets of Columbus.
Fleury played 170 games in series, winning the Stanley Cup three times with the Penguins.
He also took part in the final with the Golden Knights.
Fleury represented the Unifolié at the 2010 Olympic Games.
He was then the third goalkeeper behind Roberto Luongo and Martin Brodeur.
