Each summer, Taney’s natural site always attracts more visitors. To avoid a removal of the environment, the municipality of Vouvry (VS) announces a series of measures aimed at limiting traffic and appearing a little the 2025 summer season.
For motorists, the trip will be more complicated. The Chavalon parking lot is deleted. The independent shuttles to the Flon car park are abandoned, as well as the taxi service to the Taney pass. A security guard will be mandated to ensure compliance with these rules. In exchange, the carpostal offer between Vouvry and the Flon will be reinforced during the high season.
“The goal is not to restrict access, but to reorganize it in a sustainable way,” explains the president of commune, Véronique Diab-Vuadens. The Taney road remains prohibited for traffic, unless authorization. To achieve their goal, all visitors will therefore have to count on their feet (about 1 hour of walking from the Flon).
An information campaign will accompany these changes, with panels, an explanatory flyer, a dedicated web page and a presence on social networks. Elsewhere in Switzerland, other tourist places have restricted their recently access to preserving themselves from the masses of tourists. This is the case of Lake Oeschinen.
