In France, 700,000 children are diagnosed with a reading disorder, and 40 % of people with disabilities encounter difficulties in accessing culture.
These obstacles limit not only their access to literature, but can also have an impact on their school career and their autonomy.
Clear audio: an innovative solution
To overcome these difficulties, Cortex Média has developed a clear audio. It is a technology thought for people far from culture due to cognitive or linguistic disorders: dyslexics, ADHD, autistic, allophones.
This solution is based on two complementary techniques:
– An easy -to -read and understand transcription (Falc), making texts more accessible.
– A recording made by an actor, allowing those who have difficulties with writing to better understand and appreciate history.
Far from replacing reading, clear audio is a support tool. This process allows the autonomy of the people concerned who gain confidence. This application is available on smartphones and computers.
Works suitable for all ages
In collaboration with the publishing house dare read, Cortex Média is launching a first collection of suitable audio books. These works cover both children’s literature and the great classic. For the moment, there are about fifteen pounds for children and ten for adults.
-emblematic tales: the three little pigs, Snow White, Golden Buckle, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood …
– Classic works: the call of the forest (Jack London), the Odyssey (Homer), La Bécasse (Maupassant), the Jungle Book (Rudyard Kipling)…
Thanks to this initiative, thousands of people will be able to access reading more easily and benefit from an enriched cultural experience.
