“Anderlecht will not win the title this year”

Within a week, the Jupiler Pro League will resume its course, after a short winter break. Several teams, such as Anderlecht and Genk, will even resume a little earlier since they will compete in the quarter-finals of the Croky Cup.

While waiting for these meetings, The Last Hour – Sports had fun making some predictions for the months to come. The Walloon media notably mentioned the situation of Anderlecht.

The last title won dates back to 2017

As everyone knows, the Brussels club is the most successful club in the country with 34 national crowns to its credit. But since 2017, the Mauves have not won a single title. Last season, Anderlecht fans thought that their favorite club would finally win a 35th title, but the Mauves finally collapsed on the last day of the Play-Offs against Club Brugge.

Since the arrival of David Hubert on the RSCA bench in September, fans have started to dream of the title again. But according to The Last Hour -Sportsthe Mauves are not strong enough to win the JPL this season.

Not at the level of Bruges and Genk

“Genk and Club Brugge seem really above the rest. Anderlecht are struggling this season when they have to face big teams. We have also seen that they can lose against promoted teams like Dender and Beerschot. And then we must not forget that the gap with Charleroi, currently 7th in the standings, is only six points.”
