Anticipated legislative elections: “We, the artists…”, Pierre Niney gives a big rant

He is currently promoting the remake of “Count of Montecristo”, which will be released on our screens on June 28, 2024. And Pierre Niney cannot pretend not to be concerned about the political situation in France…

Also, while on France Inter, this June 24, 2024, the 35-year-old actor said he made a comment on the anticipated legislative elections. He said: “ we are in a state of emergency”. Pierre Niney then responded in advance to the haters, who would find it illegitimate to comment on the news.

Rant regarding this “ contradictory injunction »

To Léa Salamé, Pierre Niney explained: “I believe that today, it’s true, we artists are caught in a contradictory injunction. We are told a lot ‘you are important opinion relays’, so we are asked questions, we are pushed to express ourselves, we have to do it, that’s it.”

While specifying: “And on the other hand, we also have a lot of messages from people who tell us ‘possibly, you are disconnected, it’s not your role to talk about that’“.

A double talk that ends up annoying him. Pierre Niney thus assures: “ I have no lessons to give, I am the spokesperson for nothing. I just speak from my experience and my beliefs. Because I have not abandoned my convictions. In the sense that I find it hard to completely deny us the status of citizen”.

Pierre Niney remains a citizen

As a reminder, Pierre Niney managed to put a real limit between his private life and public life. He moved away from Paris with Natasha Andrews, to raise their children. On the question of commitments, however, he does not want to be schizophrenic. Attached to his convictions, he finally maintains: “ It’s not because I chose to be an artist that I am no longer a French citizen“.

And to add: “So as a citizen, I sometimes allow myself to say things, indeed on subjects that are close to my heart. Public services, for me, are very important. And I allow myself to do it.”
