The two sisters, Emma and Sophie Renoult grew up in Escassefort, in Lot-et-Garonne, in a family where the arts were always present in various forms, whether painting, music, photography or writing.

This atmosphere could only refine their sensitivity. However each one found their identitytraced his own path, wrote his story.

Emma's passion for drawing

Emma has always loved drawing. She remembers participating in the first workshops organized by Nuances. Today, she works in the field of communication, digital marketing and graphic design.

Its objective is to promote companiesconcepts, brands thanks to illustration. She thus creates an original universe and an atypical atmosphere for each project. His work is very elaborate, the smallest details are studied with precision. She creates a certain balance in her worksdirect readability of the message, shapes and colors are in total harmony. She is self-employed: illustration, posters and decorative products, graphic design, packaging, layout have no secrets for her. She still draws and is thinking of becoming a tattoo artist, another form of graphic expression.

Contact with nature for Sophie

Sophie lives with a whitewater fishing enthusiast. She accompanies him on his outings and three years ago, she says she felt a kind of impulse when in contact with nature who surrounded him.

The mountain, the trees, the sound of the torrent seemed to grab her. When she got home, she suddenly had the urge to express her feelings. This is the start of a long quest first with oil pastels. The natural elements are gradually taking shape; she entrusts drafts to her dad who is very “impressed” by what he discovers. Sophie continues her research, replacing pastels with oil paint.

In nature, she takes the time to observe, to absorb, to use all her senses so as not to forget anything. She is amazed and anxious at the same time“in the face of this strange, breathtaking and hostile world at the same time”.

These paintings reflect this mixture of love and fear. Plays on materials, effects of shadows and lights, moving colors bring a magical atmosphere to figurative landscapes.

This is their first exhibition. Sophie and Emma, two talented young artists to discover in Escassefort until December 28, 2024.
