Yesterday we published a brief on a publication Heritage Images by illustrating the article with a painting presented as from the 17th century which seemed to us to be a work rather from the second half of the 18th century, French, and otherwise of excellent quality. We hoped to be able to find its attribution thanks to a reader.

The result was not long in coming: Jean-Pierre Cuzin called us to tell us that he had recognized the hand of François-André Vincent, the painter whose catalog raisonné he published with Arthena (see the article) .…
