The life of François Cluzet threatened: the actor was almost the victim of filicide

François Cluzet, it is obviously an unforgettable performance in Untouchables, alongside Omar Sy. But his career is naturally not limited to this role. He is notably starring, with Vincent Cassel, in a comedy entitled A moment of confusion, broadcast this Tuesday evening on C8.

We therefore find it quite regularly in films where humor has a fairly important place. And if the actor likes to laugh so much, we can assume that it is a habit that he adopted in order to forget his childhood which was very difficult. In fact, he found himself alone with his brother and his father from the age of 8, his mother having left them for a love affair.

His father was not doing well at all, and could have committed an irreparable act, as François Cluzet explained in March 2022 in Seven to Eight : “He wanted to kill us, he wanted to kill himself. It was hard at that age, it was hard.” We were therefore very close to filicide (deliberate act of a parent who kills their own child).

The difficult details of François Cluzet’s childhood

Sometimes it was a little sad, because we lacked tenderness, we lacked love. My father was depressed, my mother had left. So we caught my father’s depression and we had a lot of trouble getting out of it.. Much trouble. I think my father added a lot, because his idea was to bring my mother back. But we suffered his depression”, also detailed Blanche’s father, Paul (whose mother is the late Marie Trintignant), Joseph and Marguerite.

Painful memories: “There was a moment that was very difficult, it was when we were forced to move to my grandmother’s house. There, five of us found ourselves in a two-room apartment on the ground floor, which was my grandmother’s old shop. She welcomed my father, my brother and me. The three of us found ourselves in a cage bed that was completely smashed. We were eating on a small five-person game table, which didn’t hold up. It was Public Assistance that gave us the sheets [et] covers.”

But fortunately, Valérie Bonneton’s ex-companion has managed to move forward since then.
